Story
Growing up as a child, football was my passion. I always had a football at my feet. I wouldn't go anywhere without it. It was all that me and my friends played all day. It was all we wanted to do... play football!
Following my African Adventure in 2014, I realised that this was a luxury that I took for granted. I quickly learned from my week in Ghana, that football was a privilege. The local children emulated their footballing heros by rolling up a pair of socks into a ball, because they could not afford footballs. This brought a tear to my eye. Every child should have a ball at their feet. Every child should grow up imagining scoring the winning goal in a World Cup final on their local field. Every child should have the same opportunities that I was fortunate to have growing up, such as education, social inclusion, health & well-being, which was empowered by the love of the beautiful game.
Which is why I am raising money to return back to Ghana and further help the local community by delivering education and social engagement projects through the vehicle of football.
In 2014, myself and Steve Parker worked together and donated books, writing materials, football equipment, football kits and computers to a local school called Woe EP.
In 2015, I want to engage more people, donate more resources and create a legacy within the local community.
