Story

Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe.

Unfortunately MND is a disease which is very close to home. My Dad passed away from this terrible disease back in 2008. Our family experienced first hand how MND can affect peoples lives.

The reason I’m running the London Marathon is because I’d like to try and raise awareness for MND, raise money for this great cause and hopefully be able to help out with those families who have someone suffering from this disease.

If you can give anything, no matter how small or large that may be, it really will be greatly appreciated.

Let’s all try and raise awareness for this terrible disease #TeamMND

Thank you all,

Jamie
