OCD Action's vision is of a society where Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is better understood and diagnosed quickly, where appropriate treatment options are open and accessible, where support and information are readily available and where nobody feels ashamed to ask for help.

Story

I am taking part in the London to Brighton off road MTB ride to raise funds and awareness for OCD Action.

My daughter Emily has suffered with severe and debilitating OCD since she was a little girl. Her condition has been so severe that she has wanted to end her life and has led to severe depression and anxiety.  She has been an in-patient in hospital under a highly specialised OCD team for over 6 months.  Thanks to this care she is now learning to live with her illness.

Early diagnosis and better understanding of this complex illness is key.  Historically sufferers are not diagnosed for years by which time coping strategies are so entrenched in them that OCD is very difficult to treat.

OCD action is at the forefront of raising awareness of this often misunderstood condition.  Please help me raise money for this charity very close to my heart in order for them to continue their vital work.
