Jamie's Kilimanjaro page

Kilimanjaro · 22 November 2019
Hi, my name's Jamie and I'm a second-year student at the University of East Anglia. Along with some fellow students I've decided to undertake the small task of summiting the largest free-standing mountain in the World, Mount Kilimanjaro, in support for Meningitis Research Foundation. They aim to research and raise awareness for both meningitis and septicaemia and aim to defeat the disease by 2030.
About Meningitis
Meningitis is a horrible, life-threatening disease, of which anyone, anywhere can get, affecting 5 million people a year globally. The two diseases are responsible for more deaths of children under 5 than malaria, tetanus, measles and AIDS combined!
Kilimanjaro Climb
One of the 'seven summits' of the world, Kilimanjaro stands at 5,895 meters above sea level and is located in Tanzania, next to the countries border with Kenya. Through sweltering heat and sub-zero temperatures, the trek will take 6 days to complete as we trek through dense rain forests and battle with immensely thin air.
Thank you for taking the time to visit this fundraising, I'd be incredibly grateful for any donations, of any size, to help hit the target and make a real difference so please spread the word it would really be appreciated!!
