Story
While you may already be supporting one or more great causes, if you're looking for a way to help those less fortunate then please read on.
This summer I will be cycling with Jon to raise funds to help educate children (many of whom have been orphaned through AIDS and conflict) in Karamoja, a semi-arid region in the north east of Uganda.
Just £3 educates and feeds a child for one week.
The joy of education is, for so many of us, taken for granted but for the children of this region it is not so. Most of the population survives off the land. Many are nomadic moving their cattle to find pastures in the dry times. Several years ago Jon and I cycled the Pyrenees coast to coast and raised enough money for a school to be built through this fantastic charity. With the exception of last summers lockdown, every year since then we've cycled in remote and challenging places to help ensure the next years intake of children can benefit. Please help with this ongoing journey. Your donation will make a huge difference to the lives of some very deserving children like Hope, Patrice, Joshua and Samuel (select "View Gallery" to see photo) who benefitted tremendously thanks to previous support. They have expressed their immense gratitude for such profound help and asked for it to continue for younger friends and family.
We will cycle around Scotlands North Coast 500 route (select "View Gallery" to see route) covering over 800 kilometres (500 miles) with roughly 10,000m of ascent/descent (more than Mt Everest!) in 8 days from 26 June to 3 July, starting and finishing in Inverness.
We plan, organise and meet all costs ourselves, so rest assured that all of your donation will go to help educate children in Uganda. We also carry all our gear with no support.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money direct to the charity (MOSS) and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Please give whatever you can afford. Help to make a difference.....
Kind regards
Jamie & Jon
