Story
I am running the London Marathon this year - I am raising money for the Scout Group near me.
Like most charities, Scouting has been hit really hard by Covid, most of the costs carried on during the various lock downs, the groups couldn't meet but there was a huge amount of effort going in to Zoom and online meetings, but there was very little income and funds are low. All of the leaders who run the groups give their time for free and this is me doing my bit to help them carry on doing the great work they are.
I grew up in a Scouting family and had amazing experiences around the world - it was a big part of making me who I am (more of the good bits than the bad bits...). I think Scouting fills a gap that formal education does not and I want that to be there for the next generation.
The pic above on the left was me when I got married - weighing 50% more than I weigh now, the pic on the right is me coming back from my "big training run".
