I have taken on the challenge of Running the Kielder Marathon on the 5th October this year on behalf of the PSP Association, as my Mother had Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) for several years. She thought until her last breath and was taken away from me on the 18th February this year as a result of this horrible disease.

PSP is a fatal brain condition and when my Mother was diagnosed with PSP I had to watch over the years my mother losing the ability to eat, walk and more importantly the Independence of looking after herself.

There is no treatment and no cure for PSP and that is why I am running Kielder Marathon to try and raise funds for the PSP Association, who fund research into the causes, treatments and an eventual cure for PSP.

I started running so my Mother could see me run the Great North Run for the first time. if you know me, running has now became a big part of my life and thats why I choose Kielder as my challenge for raising money for PSP. I will want to finish it, however in my mother's name I will push myself to obtain a great time for my first marathon.
