Story

Thanks for supporting my fundraising. I will be running the 2023 London Marathon to raise money for MacMillan cancer support. MacMillan provides healthcare, information and all round support to anyone affected by cancer while also campaigning for better research into cancer care.

This year we received the devastating news that my mum had been diagnosed with a Stage 4 brain tumour - Frontotemporal Glioma. We’ve watched mum find the strength to pull herself off end of life care, learn to talk again, struggle with memory loss and as she tries to learn to adapt to the inability to walk or move freely. Research into brain tumours is so vital and only possible with the fundraising efforts of cancer charities like MacMillan.

The diagnosis of a terminal illness uproots your life in every way and for so many families in the same position as mine, Macmillan provides the safety net that you so desperately need when you’re just trying to make the most of every moment.

My mum is my biggest inspiration and I’m running the marathon to show appreciation and support for MacMillan but also to show my mum how proud I am of her and that I’m thinking of her every step of the way.
