Jamie's Quad Charity Challenge · 2 February 2017

Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

I can’t let a year go by without taking part in a charity
event or two, or three, or four with my training buddy and good friend Trevor
Lewis!

So this year I am raising money for Diabetes UK, and will be
taking part in 4 charity events, the same number as many type 1 diabetics may
need to inject insulin treatment during the course of day.

Follow my progress as I take part in the Colchester
½ marathon on Sunday 12
th March, running 13.1 miles.

Following this I shall cycle 60 miles as part of the Tour de
Tendring bike ride on Sunday 14
th
May.

Next I will be combining these sports with some swimming as
I look to complete my 3
rd
triathlon on Sunday 18th June,
swimming 300m, cycling 25k and finishing with a 5k run.

My final challenge will be held on Saturday 8th
July where I will play 6 hours of 5 aside football to be held at Little Oakley
Football club.

All of this will end with a charity disco on Saturday 8th
July for a well deserved drink.
  SAVE THE
DATE!

Diabetes is the most potentially devastating and fastest
growing health crisis of our time.
There
are currently 4 million people in the
UK living with diabetes and 11.5
million are at increased risk of getting type 2 diabetes.
Do you know someone with diabetes?
I’m quite certain you do.

As usual your encouragement, support, words of advice and any donations are all
greatly received.
