Jamie's Farm runs unique residential programmes for disadvantaged children who are risk of academic or social exclusion. We aim to help these children re-engage with education.

Story

So Jamie's Farm will be our new neighbour in Wiltshire - just a stone's throw from our cottage in fact - And the children on placements at Jamie's farm often run around the Common land woodland in front of our house.. Building dens and all sorts of delightful 'Famous Five' type fun!  And what a great neighbour they are!  This is what they do:

Jamie’s Farm transforms the lives of vulnerable children in challenging urban schools.

The farm provides a unique combination of ‘farming, family and therapy’ through a short stay residential and follow up programme. The charity aims to re-engage children with educational life, and enable them to fulfil their potential both in school and the wider social setting.

The impact of feeling a part of something through working towards a common goal with SUPPORT - and connecting to the land and animals - brings the possibility of what life can be. Nurturing this sense of possibility and connection to the earth brings balance and connects us back to LIFE.  I think supporting charities like this one is so important for the future psyche of the younger generations who are slipping through family or social support nets.

Jamie's Farm is committed to:

*A preventative approach;

*Building long term partnerships with schools and charities that bring children to Jamie’s Farm;

*Giving children a framework of support that will allow the impact of the farm on self-esteem, relationships and behaviour to continue

A visit to Jamie’s Farm results in:

*Fewer fixed term and permanent exclusions;

*Reengagement with teachers, school and educational life;

*Professional development opportunities for all visiting staff;

*Memories that last a lifetime, and an opportunity to reform patterns of behaviour in school and beyond.
