Strictly Dancing Ball 2019 · 22 June 2019
Next March I hit the BIG 50! I had decided I wanted to do ‘something’ to give back. As an avid Strictly fan who loves to boogie, when I heard about the Strictly Ball, I knew straight away I would love to do it and it would also fulfil my passion to “give something back”. I have 2 Teens myself and am so lucky that the most we have dealt with are broken bones. It touched my heart that Teens Unite brings together Teens who are suffering from cancer or in remission for “Teens Days”. The charity organises fun activities and a space where young people can enjoy themselves and not be treated like patients. Those who are involved are all amazing people, who avoid all talk of treatment or anything hospital related. They talk about normal Teen interests, giving them a break from their fight and helping them to have the fun that every Teen deserves, however, often takes for granted.
So for my birthday I don’t need a bottle of Fizz or Novelty 50 gift – that money is much more needed at Teens Unite to help me raise as much as possible for this “FAB – U – LOUS” Charity.
Thank you x
Teens Unite is the only charity in the UK to provide on-going support to 13-24 year olds fighting cancer from diagnosis through to post-remission. Seven young people are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK and Teens Unite brings them together through workshops and activities so they can spend valuable time with others their age in a similar situation to themselves. The charity helps to rebuild the confidence and self-esteem of those it supports and prevents feelings of isolation during what can be a long and lonely battle.
