Pseudomyxoma Survivor aims to raise awareness of PMP and appendix cancers, to provide emotional and practical support and information to survivors and their families on our website and online community. We are also dedicated to raising funds for research into this extremely rare disease.

Story

After a very difficult and heartbreaking year for all our family, my sister Lisa Bostock passed away on 22nd December 2017, at the age of only 44. She was originally diagnosed with PMP, which is a very rare cancer, only one in a million people are diagnosed with this disease per year. Lisa was given the all clear in July 2017, but from October 2017 was getting a lot of aches & pains, on 7th December 2017 she was admitted to Worthing Hospital. On the 14th December 2017 she was told the cancer had spread to her bones and it was terminal. We want to raise awareness of this cancer as nobody seems to have heard of it, even some of the Doctors at the Hospital. This charity gives support to people and their families living with this type of cancer, something that we feel is necessary as we never knew about this support at the time, so we are doing the 5k Fun Run at Hove Park on the 14th July 2018 in memory of Lisa and to raise this awareness.

Any donation to this Just Giving page would be very helpful.

Pseudomyxoma Survivor is a non-profit organization, run by patients and caregivers. We have a thriving support community supporting anyone whose life has been touched by pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) as well as appendix cancer and other peritoneal surface malignancies. We’re completely dependent on voluntary donations. Our patron is Sean Hepburn Ferrer. Sean’s mother, Audrey Hepburn, passed away shortly after being diagnosed with PMP.
