London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
This year I will be running the London Marathon and attempting to break the Guinness World Record of “fastest marathon dressed as a 3-D plant (female)”. I will be running as 65 roses 🌹 (one giant one and 64 tiny ones) to raise awareness and money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity that is incredible important to our family.
Our eldest son, William, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a baby. To be told your newborn has an incurable, life-limiting disease is truly devastating. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust were a huge source of support and information for myself and our family, really helping us during this difficult time. We have been involved in this wonderful charity ever since and have seen how they tirelessly raise awareness of the condition, campaign for access to the newest treatments and fund cutting edge research.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41.
