Jane Fisher is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

Rainbow Jane · 17 September 2017

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thank you for visiting the Rainbow Jane JustGiving page.

My mum, Dorothea, was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer's disease in 2015. Despite her diagnosis, she always considered herself lucky and would happily tell everyone that there was nothing wrong with her. Alzheimer's impacts everyone in such different ways. Sadly, she passed away in 2018.

Watching someone you love gradually lose their memories and independence is heartbreaking. Like so many families, I often wish there had been treatments that could have slowed the disease and more support available for those living with dementia and their carers. My mother was one of 3 sisters, each one of them, suffered with Alzheimer's.

That's why fundraising for the Alzheimer's Society is so important to me. By raising awareness and supporting research, we can help improve the lives of people affected by dementia today and work towards better treatments and, one day, a cure.

Thank you for your support.
