As most of you know, for more years then I can remember, I have worked in in the treatment and care of patients with Cancer and in doing so have seen first-hand the great work that Macmillan do in the provision of Cancer Support.  This support is not just given during treatment, but can be on going for years after, in the form of practical, emotional and financial support. 

 

When the subject of this ride, in support of the Macmillan charity, came up at work, a number of us jumped at the chance to take part in the ride through the New Forest, whilst raising money for the charity.

 

We all know or have known somebody who has been effected by Cancer, and it is the great support from the Macmillan staff after treatment that keep friend’s family and the patients going, for which myself and my colleagues are riding.

 

On a personal note, this year seems more poignant, with a number of close friends having suffered from the effects of Cancer and closer to home, witnessing my husband seeing his Nan return to Hospital for a course of Radiotherapy for throat cancer, at a ripe old age of ninety something (Age withheld for modesty).      

 

I have not set a target, but hope that as many of you could give as generously as possible and perhaps forward this link to as many friends as you wish.
