Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am celebrating my 60th birthday this year by hurling myself out of an aeroplane for Brain Tumour Research.Unfortunately due to Covid 19 my jump was postponed.I now have a new jump date August 21st.😊😊😊
For over 4 years I have been helping Ben Lindon care for his children.
Ben was diagnosed with an inoperable grade 2 glioblastoma brain tumour on March 11th 2008, a week before his 29th birthday.
He has had radiotherapy and over 100 cycles of chemotherapy which they said would render him infertile. Against all the odds he has fathered two gorgeous children, a daughter and a son.
Despite his condition he has taken on gruelling challenges in aid of Brain Tumour Research including marathons, the 3 peaks, cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End and kayaking down the River Wye to co-incide with his 100th cycle of chemotherapy.
A recent deterioration in his condition however, means he can no longer do these challenges. He has had to move into sheltered housing and is relying on a wheelchair and mobility scooter to get around whilst he undergoes rehabilitation.
Ben is amazing, so positive and an inspiration. I am so happy that I can (hopefully) raise lots of money for this amazing charity.
Also living with this condition is a gorgeous young local boy Charlie, whose mum's words speak for themselves:
"Charlie was 5 when he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. He endured several brain surgeries followed by intensive treatment in the form of radiotherapy & chemotherapy. It has been horrendous to watch him going through this but he is a little fighter 💪 The drugs used have not changed in 50 years - sadly due to lack of research - we need kinder & less harsh medication for our warriors!
Brain tumours kill more children & adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.......& yet just 1.37% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since 2002. This is totally unacceptable! Please support Jane who is kindly fundraising to aid much needed research in this area - thank you ❤"
As well as Ben and Charlie, my friend's daughter Sarah has recently been diagnosed with the same condition.
For Ben, Charlie and Sarah, please, please give whatever you can, and share, share, share my page because I am very, very close to reaching my target.Everything you do helps this charity and them greatly, and we appreciate your generosity.
Thank you to all you wonderful people who have already donated it is very much appreciated.
Thank you,
Jane
