London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
Hi Everyone,
I never thought I’d be lucky enough to get a ballot place for the London Marathon. So when I did … I saw it as a sign…
It’s now or never! Certainly, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
It’s going to be an electric atmosphere as it’s the first time held in October, the first after the pandemic…it’s going to be special. A coming together of people trying to achieve something monumental… and it’s going to test me. I’ve done many half marathon’s but never a full !!
I’m also going to use this challenge to help raise some money for a charity very close to mine and my families heart.
Queen Elizabeth Foundation helps disabled adults live rich and fulfilling lives providing independence and friendship. My nephew, Alex has lived at one of QEF’s residential homes for a number of years. He loves it ! It’s allowed him to receive the stimulation, fun and independence that is vital for his well-being.
Alex has had a tough 18months, as have all care homes and staff with vunerable people. Charities like QEF have seen donations fall .. so this challenge is for Alex.
I have included a number of photos of Alex here at a recent family wedding and to see the smile and happiness on his face just shows how charities like QEF make the difference.
