Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in 'The Nuts Challenge' which is a 7k run/walk/crawl through 100 muddy obstacles!  The reason I am doing this is for a worthy cause!

There is a happy, cheeky, little boy called Harry, who attends the school that I teach in.  He was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2013.  Sadly, by the time Harry reaches his 10th birthday it is likely he will be in a wheelchair and his upper body will then begin to shut down due to this rare and painful condition, leaving him locked inside his own body.  As a muscular degenerative disease, eventually his heart and lungs will fail, almost certainly before he is 30.  There is no cure, it will happen and it is 100% fatal.

The good news is that there is currently a large amount of research taking place in the UK and abroad - so we can make a difference!

Harry's mum and dad are an inspiration, they focus a lot of energy on raising awareness and money for this charity - for more information visit http://www.help4harry.co.uk

Thank you for your time and support - it is greatly appreciated and will give me the motivation to wear sporty gear and wade through all the mud!
