Jane's 10k every day for Takiwatanga Support Services

10k every day for Takiwatanga Support Services · 1 April 2021
This week is autism awareness week. As you may know my son Owen was diagnosed autistic when he was 3 and a half years old. It was an awful time for me and my family , I broke down, I lost all my good feelings, was sad every day, suffered panic attacks. I literally lost the person I was. BUT after understanding more and more about autism, seeing my Owen smash goals I never thought he would and seeing him make friends I am slowly getting that all back. I have seeked a whole bunch of support over the past few years and lately it is so hard to come by but after attending a support group in my sons school I heard about Takiwātanga Autism - Parents' Support Group Essex .
Takiwātanga Support Services was formed in March 2019 by a small group of parents of SEN children. They became a registered charity in August 2019. Their objective is to promote social inclusion amongst autistic children (and those suffering from social anxiety issues and their families within Essex, by providing social activities for the children and support groups for parents.
This charity is absolutely amazing and I will be cycling 10k every day for the entire month of April to raise funds for this amazing charity.
I hope you can support me in fundraising for this worthy cause as charities like this are vital for parents and children with autism and social anxiety .
Thank you
