Jane's 2.6 260 mile Challenge

The 2.6 Challenge · 26 April 2020 ·
Hi!
Autism East Midlands, in common with many other UK charities, has been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. We have lost key fundraising event income from events like the London Marathon and Peak District Challenge - and we rely on philanthopic donations to deliver some of our services, such as our family support hubs which offer support to autistic children and their families.
In an attempt to help charities secure this income on which they rely many of the key challenge event organisations and giving platforms have combined to create the 2.6 challenge. Participants are encouraged to do something relating to 2.6, 26, or 260 to raise funds for their chosen charity.
I'm not quite sure what I was thinking, but I have agreed (i.e. our Head of Fundraising twisted my arm) to cycle 260 miles on my exercise bike over 10 days, starting on April 26th. Maybe that isn't a long way for a keen cyclist, but those of you who know me will agree that I probably do not fall within that group!
Any support you feel able to give would make a difference to the lives of Autistic children and adults, enabling us to safeguard services and plan for the future during this difficult time.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks, and I'll see you at the finish line!
Stay safe,
Jane
