More research to beat SCAD
Campaign by Beat SCAD (RCN 1164066)
Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is causing healthy people to suffer a sudden heart attack or cardiac arrest and doctors dont know why. Beat SCAD are funding research to find answers and save lives.

Story

In January 2020 my nieces world changed forever when she had a beautiful baby boy, as a family they were filled with happiness that unfortunately didn't last for very long, little did they know that 10 days later she would suffer from a heart attack due to a condition called SCAD, She had never heard of it and its taken alot of therapy and support for not only herself but the family to get our heads around it all,  she now suffers from ongoing chest pain anxiety and a fear of it happening again as it is spontaneous, recently she went to the hospital for an appointment and out of the 5 medical proffesionals in the room only 1 had heard of scad which I find shocking as its becoming increasingly common in young women with no previous health concerns, SCAD UK just simply need money for research as there is still so much that remains to be discovered about it, I'm running the London Marathon and hope I can raise some money for ongoing research into this horrific condition which my niece now has for life, let's educate these midwifes and doctors to understand scad, thank you so much for reading and any amount would be so very much appreciated, Love to you all, London Marathon, let's be having you xx
