From the Jurassic coast to Dorset’s heaths, forests, wetlands, downlands, meadows and rivers, our mission is to look after wildlife, restore their habitats, campaign for the environment and protect wild places as well as inspiring people to take meaningful action for nature.

Story

The Hardy Women Challenge: 11 to 13 September 2009

What's Hardy about this Challenge?

Dorset Wildlife Trust took 30 "ladies" (from 25 to 75 years of age) onto Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour for a "survival" weekend. No hairdryers, no straighteners, no showers, no hot water, no tents and no mobile phones! However what we did have was lots of enthusiasm, team spirit and brute force (for the conservation tasks assigned to us).

How Much Am I Trying to Raise?

I'm trying to raise just £100 for Dorset Wildlife Trust. So if you think I did a good job on the island without my creature comforts, getting down and dirty with my saw and lopper (you need to read the above link to understand that) please sponsor me. Even just a couple of quid would help to protect the red squirrels of Brownsea Island and ensure that conservation work can continue around Dorset.

How to Donate

Donating through this page is really quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the best way to sponsor me. Dorset Wildlife Trust gets your money fast and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please, please sponsor me now

Many thanks.
