Story

As you know we love a challenge! I (Jane) have been massively inspired by 3 people. The first is Ellie Edge, who 6 months after having treatment for breast cancer cycled through India in October of last year for the same charity so God knows, if she can do it after all that...so can I! The second person is more a friend of a friend - Alex Kirby who has survived breast cancer and has had subsequent preventative surgeries to stop a potential recurrence of the cancer. The third is Sophie Tope who I work with and was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29. Happily, 9 years later she is cancer free.

Kathryn also works with Sophie and has friends who have inspired her to raise money for this very worthwhile cause. Arlene who is in remission with breast cancer, Eileen Breen who has survived cervical cancer, and last but by no means least, Sally Scotton who sadly lost her battle with breast cancer last year.

All of these women are proof that cancer doesn't just affect old people, or smokers, or obese people, or people with a family history. They are also proof that with help from charities such as these that cancer can be beaten.

One final thing, ladies - go for your smear test - it could save your life.
