Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Cancer touches most of us at some point in our lives, but to get a cancer diagnosis in the middle of Coronavirus seems doubly cruel. A good friend of mine is going through chemotherapy at the moment and is having to cope with all the usual side-effects including hair loss. Because of the current restrictions I am limited as to what I can do to help, and I feel utterly powerless – I can’t even give her a hug or sit with her and have a cuppa. So the next best thing is a crew-cut to show solidarity!
Highland Hospice is a wonderful local hospice based in Inverness and covering the whole of the Highlands and Islands, supporting people who are living with an advancing, life shortening illness, to give them the chance to live the best possible life with cancer. Crucially the Hospice also offers advice with the emotional, social and spiritual issues that may arise and works with patients and loved ones at a time of transition to help them enjoy, value and commemorate life.
Highland Hospice is an independent local charity reliant on the community for funding. The region covered has a population of over 230,000 scattered across an area the size of Belgium. The NHS provides an annual grant but additional funds of over £7,000 a day are needed to cover the costs of delivering all our services. Your donation will go directly to the Hospice, allowing them to continue this vital support.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
