I DID IT! After months of training, I managed to get myself round 26.2 miles in 6 hours 32 minutes and 11 seconds. It wasn't exactly an elite time, but as you all know, it wasn't about the time - it was about the cause. A very special one, for which I have raised nearly £6,000 and I am over the moon. I have been so touched by each donation and I thank you all so very much for your support. For those of you reading this who have not donated - there is still time!

This year, I lost my father - the smartest, kindest and funniest man I have ever known. Dad gave us so many wonderful memories and as many of you know, he maintained his (at times dark) sense of humour right up until the very end. 

Dad was first diagnosed with prostate cancer back in 2007 and we thought he had it beaten, but it returned in 2010. He fought hard again and after more treatment we finally saw the back of it. However, the side effects took their toll and he grew weaker over the last few years. In the summer of 2015, a new cancer had found its way to his liver and in November, we lost him.

However, we are not the only ones with a story - there are so many across the UK who are affected by prostate cancer. Over 42,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year, every hour one man dies from prostate cancer and 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime.

This charity does so much to try to lower these numbers, so I’ve decided to take on my first marathon for Prostate Cancer UK and would like to do my Dad proud. I would very much appreciate any donation big or small to motivate me through these winter months as I pound the pavements of London in training for 26.2 miles in April.
