Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and letting me explain my craziness.
For those that know me well, know how self-conscious I can be, so for the life of me I'm not sure why, but I have agreed to put on a wet suit and not only be seen by people in it but most likely be photographed as I head under water to swim with sharks, yes SHARKS, although at this moment in time I've not given the sharks a second thought, I'm more worried about the wet suit than the sharks. I'll worry about them on the day :)
The reason I'm doing it, well two reasons really, after having been over weight for number of years and having finally got my health issues under control I want to start doing things that I haven't had the chance to do before and as I seem to be hurtling towards 50 at a rapid rate, a shark dive is one of those on my 50 before 50 list!
The second and most important reason is to raise money for The James Bulger Memorial Trust. We all remember the terrible abduction and murder of two-year-old James that happened in February 1993. The James Bulger Memorial Trust set up by James Mum Denise supports young people who are disadvantaged by reason of having become the victims of crime, hatred or bulling and offers holidays and respite for those in need.
It is the first time I have done a sponsored anything (since school) and I would really appreciate if you could donate a pound or two to help me achieve my target, for those not wanting to donate on-line, I do have a good ole fashioned sponsor form to fill in as well. Donation of any amount will be gratefully received and automatically goes to the charity.
