I am running the London marathon in memory of my incredibly brave dad, Arnie. He was diagnosed with MDS, a rare form of leukaemia in November 2018, he died at the end of January 2019.

The courage and the determination with which he lived his final months, will stay with me forever. He had to endure this horrific, cruel, relentless illness and everything that it threw at him. All the while, he was more concerned about his family, how we were then and how we'd continue to be. He wanted us to live our best lives, even though he knew he wouldn't be there to watch.

I choose to believe he is watching though, and most certainly will be when I run this marathon. I will be thinking of him every single second. 

Running for leukaemia care is hugely important to me as they provide support and care to those diagnosed with blood cancer, and their families and carers too. This is essential at such a sensitive, heartbreaking, precious time.

Nobody should have to endure what my dad did. He will always be my hero.
