Story

I am doing a sponsored swim in a part of the River Thames called The Royal Victoria Dock. It is cold, filthy and filled with things like rats, eels, piranha fish and shopping trolleys. You can see it on the map at the start of Eastenders.

I'm doing it because I would like to donate some money to my friends at JDRF, to help finance their work to try and find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, which affects over 25,000 children in the UK, one of them is my friend Lily.

I'll be "swimming" a mile (hopefully) on May 26th at 9:30am.

I'm ready - I have a pair of borrowed goggles.
Lots of love
Janey
