Story

The Great Big Christian Aid Village Walk

2021 is Christian Aid’s 75th Anniversary; seventy five years of bringing
support and hope to the poorest people around the world. This year’s featured project aims to support  people in Africa who are facing poverty, hunger and homelessness because of climate change. Excessive flooding followed by periods of drought have caused devastating crop failures. You can discover more about the work of Christian Aid on their website www.christianaid.org.uk

Colerne has a tradition of fundraising for Christian Aid in May. We felt that this year, because of the pandemic,
door to door collections would not be appropriate. Instead some of our group are going to do a sponsored walk of 55.5 miles around the local Peacock and Heritage Trails. A number of people have kindly volunteered to guide the walks. Some of the walks will be repeated, if there is demand. If you would like to walk with us on any of these please contact Annette Hitch for details. All the walks will be conducted according to government guidelines.
