By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers & advocating, the Association enhances quality of life while searching for new treatments and a cure.

Story

In January 2019, I will be embarking on a journey to climb Kilimanjaro, and have decided to do it in support of ALS. Having had family affected by this progressive neurodegenerative disease which affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, I wanted to lend my support to a charity whose mission it is to find treatments and a cure for ALS.

The climb itself will be pushing me out of my comfort zone and training to prepare has already commenced despite the event itself being months away at this point.... this will be a daunting experience to say the least, particularly given that only 40% of those who attempt the ascent reach the summit. Your support is all the more appreciated and will help keep me going as I try to reach the top!
