Flora London Marathon 2006 · 23 April 2006 ·

Founded by Prof Iain Hutchison, Saving Faces aims through education and research to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of facial disfigurement, facial injury and mouth cancer and is committed to reducing the suffering of all victims of these devastating and often fatal conditions.

Story

Dear everyone, this is my first Marathon. I'm running because I'm a Trustee of Saving Faces, the charity that researches better treatment for facial diseases, injuries and disfigurement. It's important. For example, mouth cancer kills one person in the UK every five hours, more than cervical cancer or melanoma, yet it receives almost no government research funding. Everything I raise with your help from running 26.2 miles will help this cause. Please help if you can. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me. Saving Faces, also known as The Facial Surgery Research Foundation, will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now. Many thanks for your support. Janey/Rosie.
