Story

Hi, my name is Janice.

On January 2, 2020, I lost the love of my life, my best friend and husband, Phillip, to suicide after a long battle with mental illness.

Phill was an incredible person. He was caring and thoughtful, and selfless in so many ways. He would give the shirt off his back to strangers and friends alike. He was smart and funny, and never had a bad word to say about anyone--always striving to understand people and to accept them for who they were.

I am walking, in Phill's honour, to support the Suicide Awareness Month Walk. Funds raised will contribute to a Suicide Safer community through public education and suicide prevention training.

My hope is that together, we can educate, decrease stigma, and improve support for people living with mental illness.
