PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, in 2018 over 1800 young people took their own lives. 

I wish more than anything in the world that this charity wasn’t so close to my heart.  Suicide in young people is something that is sadly becoming so common.  It was something I never imagined that my family would have to deal with, especially losing our Mel at age 14.  Life without her can never be the same for those who loved her.  All I feel I can do is try and raise awareness so that if this can prevent just 1 family experiencing such a devastating loss then it will be a job well done.

Covid and lockdowns have made supporting my brother a real challenge and they have stunted my fund raising efforts which I thought would be on hold until the Great North run.  Imagine my surprise today on my 40th birthday, when I thought my husband and best friends would be taking me to a spa, instead they are making me jump out of an aeroplane!!!!!!!  Jesus lord above!!!!   

If you can donate please do, however if you cant spare the cash done worry about it but please talk to your children about their mental health.  Even if you they are doing well don’t assume they are.
