Our dad, Chris Harris lost his brave fight with cancer on 14th December. Our family had the most amazing support from the City Hospital Oncology Department, Macmillan, District Nurses and last but not least the Nottinghamshire Hospice.

The hospice offer a new “night support service” to support patients and families in their home. It was our dad’s wish to end his days at home and with the help of the district nursing team and the overnight help from the hospice we were able to fulfil his last wishes and he slipped away peacefully with his son and daughter by his side.

We would like other families to benefit from this support as it was comforting to know there was someone at the end of a phone through the night who could come and visit, whatever the time and whatever the issue. Nothing was too much trouble and we will always be grateful to the wonderful staff who supported our family.

We have made arrangements for flowers on the day of the funeral and would respectfully ask that no other flowers are sent. Instead please donate to the Nottinghamshire Hospice so they can carry on the amazing work and support.
