Story

On 24th June 2020 I lost my beautiful, kind and caring mum to Sepsis.

Mum was battling Cancer and was doing extremely well with her treatment, getting up every single day without fail, make up on, dressed and ready to face the world. Until suddenly, she went down hill extremely quick.

Mum changed overnight and Sepsis set in. It's very difficult to spot some of the symptoms as they are similar to symptoms of cancer treatments.

That's why I'm walking from my parents home in Deeside, to Clatterbridge, where mum was being treated (& back). Totaling approx 26 miles - the length of a marathon. (I would run this if I could, but for this year I'll walk it - who knows, if we raise enough we'll do it again next year & I'll try to run!)

So please, donate as much or as little as you can, join me if you can on the 25th September 2020 for the walk, or at the very least please share this link and spread awareness:

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
