We are Jamima, Sonya, Donna, Clive, Mark and Jo from Todmorden/Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire and we have committed to SWIMMING OUTDOORS EVERYDAY in January, no matter the weather, with NO WETSUITS (we prefer sparkly red leotards) to raise money for Crisis- the national charity for Homeless people.

Winter is harsh and forcing yourself to get into freezing cold water is challenging to say the least but it’s nothing compared to the cruel freezing conditions people have to face everyday living on our streets.

183 children lose their homes every single day, with child homelessness at its highest rate since 2006. The ‘Generation Homeless’ report released Dec 2019 is the first time the charity has been able to reveal the rate at which children are made homeless, as opposed to more general figures. By Christmas Day in 2019, at least 135,000 children will be living in temporary accommodation. This is an absolute crime.

DO YOU WANT TO JOIN US IN THIS CHALLENGE? 

The more of us do it the more money we raise.You don’t have to swim everyday. You could just do one dip in January or maybe one each weekend.
