Story

Not everything to do with the viral pandemic Lockdown was negative.

Jarvis Lane are a brilliantly exciting new British band born out of Lockdown ! Their debut single ‘Hurricane’ quickly went viral with over 1,000,000 views on Facebook / YouTube.

The band performed two Lockdown gigs over the internet - Jarvis Lane ‘Live from the Hive’ and ‘Excitement Before Christmas !’

If Lockdown’s side effects were inertia, monotony and misery Jarvis Lane were using it to develop the Anti-Dote a shot of aural adrenaline and excitement straight to the heart !

Jarvis Lane’s follow up to Hurricane is a cover of The Who’s mighty ‘Baba O’Riley’ (Teenage Wasteland) this is to be a charity single for MIND the mental health charity, with all proceeds going directly to MIND.

As everyone knows mental health issues have rocketed during Lockdown which is why we chose MIND. The single is also dedicated to the memories of Holly Dixon,  Laurence Brown and Alan ‘Dilligaf’ Green - three lovely, caring, young people very dear to us who were lost far too early through depression and mental health issues.

We chose Baba O’Riley because it was written by Pete Townshend for The Who’s abandoned LifeHouse project. LifeHouse was abandoned because no one could understand the concept ! The concept was set at a time in the future where the government controlled the entire population in a Lockdown scenario. Control was carried out via ‘The Grid’ a system of individual computers connected to and controlled by the government. All normal human experiences and emotions were derived via experience suits connected to ‘The Grid’ and human interaction was banned !

Then a musician developed a universal and unique and personalised  chord which could set each individual free from the state’s complete control.

The reason no one understood the concept of LifeHouse is because Pete Townshend wrote it 4 years before the internet was even invented !
