Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Jashodaben's most formative years were spent in the farming village of Chela, just outside of Jamnagar in the Indian State of Gujarat. There she would spend her days growing and harvesting many different types of vegetables. She would also speak about the animals that they had on the farm and that they were part of the family. Everyday her brothers would travel great distances with the herds of cattle, ensuring that they were well fed and looked after. And then, when their life came to an end, they would mourn the loss of the animals together as a family.
When Jashodaben’s own daughters, Anjana and Varsha were growing up in Indore, they would really look forward to these visits to Chela also. Learning how to harvest various crops and spending time with the animals, were some of their fondest childhood memories.
Jashodaben also actively donated to support animal welfare both in the UK and India.
For this reason we thought it would be a fitting tribute to raise money for Jiv Daya (animal welfare) for Jashodaben. So that in her memory, other animals just as those she spent her earliest years with, are given the love and care they deserve in their later life.
All funds raised go to the welfare of the animals, being cared for by The Retreat Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, an all-vegan rescue and sanctuary based in Kent.
