In August, I am taking on the Snowdon by Night challenge to raise money for Alder Hey Children's Charity, a place that has become incredibly close to my family's heart.

Our journey with Alder Hey began when my son was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis - a rare, cancer-like condition that affects around 50 children each year. Since his diagnosis, he has been undergoing chemotherapy and the incredible oncology team at Alder Hey have been there for us every step of the way.

They have provided expertise, support and most importantly kindness during the most difficult time of our lives. They are such an important source of strength for so many families.

This will be tough but it's nothing compared to what the brave children at Alder Hey face every single day. Every step I take will be for my beautiful, strong boy and the amazing staff who have helped him.
