Hackney Half Marathon 2023 · 21 May 2023 ·
When I purchase a coffee or go to the shop, I don't think twice about getting what I need, which is a very fortunate position to be in. In fact, a small amount of money may not mean much to us but it can mean a day or week's worth of food to others. Each day, I walk past the homeless on the way to work and back home. Apart from not having food or basic necessities, on a deeper level, they probably feel lonely and isolated.
Every human being deserves to feel cared for. A small gesture like getting them food shows that there are people that care for them. An act of kindness may start a small ripple that may turn into a tidal wave!
I'm running for Hackney Half (first time running beyond a 10km, yikes!) along with Googlers Karen and Keeza. We need to team up to motivate ourselves to do the challenge ;) ! Google will make a donation match to double every £1 raised so your donation makes double the impact! Any amount you donate is very much appreciated. There is no amount too big or too small. Also, research shows that helping others can be good for our mental health :)
Thank you for your kindness!
About The Felix Project
400 thousand children in London and 1.4 million adults are food insecure. Meanwhile, in the UK we waste almost 10 million tonnes of food every year. The Felix Project exists to fight this problem.
Every penny donated by you will stop good food from being wasted and get good food to Londoners in need - including children & families, the homeless, the elderly, domestic violence survivors, refugees and more.
