We support young people at risk of suicide to stay safe and find hope in times of need

Story

We are Jason Baird and Andrew Baldock, two friends known as the Stockport Spidermen. Throughout 2020 we have been entertaining children and their families during lockdown and raising huge amounts of money for charity and local causes.

On our travels we recognise that many young people are currently facing emotional distress. Tragically some are choosing to end their lives, like 16 year old Stockport boy Lee Ridgway whose parents subsequently set up two causes, Lee's Sunshine Fund (raising money for PAPYRUS) and Lee's Sunshine Legacy (offering rays of hope) in his memory. Sadly we are hearing too many of these type of stories.

Going forward we want to do our bit (or a lot!!) and also wish to address this issue in 2021, and using our superpowers aim to raise an incredible £100,000 to help those at risk. Our chosen charity is also PAPYRUS, so we have some amazing projects planned for next year. Please visit the Stockport Spidermen Facebook page for all the information.

Please offer your valuable support to such a brilliant charity, lets all make a difference to young people everywhere..... they are the future super heroes !!!!! Huge Spidey thanks from Jason and Andrew!

PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, in 2018 over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINEUK. Every £5 raised can help pay for a life-saving contact to HOPELINEUK. Your donations really are lifesaving, thank you.
