Story
half way to my own goal. many thanks to everyone who has been able to donate. iv still got a long way to go.....literally.
Cancer.... Grim isn’t it? It’s something that’s affected close family and friends for as long as I can remember. But it really hit hard in 2009 when it took my Dad away. Seeing what he went through really made me think about how I could help and what I can do to make a difference.
Due to my boyish good looks Movember’s not an option so I’ve been thinking about what other charity events I could participate in. When I heard about the London to Brighton walk I thought that was a perfect way to give back and raise some money for Cancer Research. The walk will take place on 25-26 May 2013 and we’ve got just 24hrs to complete the 100km distance.
I know the suffering and pain I’ll endure whilst walking the 100km is nothing compared to what my friends and family have been through, but I’m prepared to put my body through the pain barrier to raise some well needed money for the good folk at Cancer Research. It’s going to be especially arduous for me as I’ve recently had my knee reconstructed but I’m determined to do it.
I realise that money’s tight and that there’s loads of other deserving charities out there but please dig deep to help me make a difference and make a contribution to beating this terrible disease once and for all.
Again, thanks for visiting my page, and please contribute (no contribution is too small!!) as much as you’re able.
Cheers
Jay
