We will be cycling from the Houses of Parliament in Central London to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, approximately 200 Miles. We are doing this trip in memory of Nancy Harris who died in  January 2013 aged 94. Nancy was an amazing lady with such joy for life that she was truly inspiring to all the people fortunate to have known her.

Famous quotes from Nancy that reflect her amazing attitude: When asked why she was cycling round to pensioners homes to deliver books, she replied, "Well the old people need the books!" She was in her seventies at the time!

On the day after the 9/11 incident, she was asked if she was worried about boarding her flight to Chicago. She replied with a smile, "Oh no dear, not at all!"

We have chosen Cancer Research as our charity and every penny raised will go to them in her name.

We are setting off on 3rd October and will hopefully arrive sometime on the 5th October.

The cyclists include…..

Jason Harris – I’m a novice cyclist.  My training has involved cycling a couple of miles each day to work and back with the occasional pub trip! Earlier this year my fancy touring bike was stolen so I’m now completing the cycle on my trusty old three speed 1960 style Raleigh!!!

Trevor Harris – Also a novice cyclist. I am cycling on a bike which I have rebuilt myself. I am not as fit as the others but I will give them a run for their money, though I am not looking forward to the mountains/hills in France. Wish us luck!!!

James Botelho – Also a novice cyclist. I am a fat bloke who realised that 20 stone was probably not the best for my health and thought this was a good idea!!!

Please give as much as you can. In the current economic climate we understand that belts are tight so even £1 will be gratefully received. Just spread the word amongst your friends so that they can contribute too and help us achieve the target! :-)
