Helen & Douglas House helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child who will die prematurely. We are a home from home for our patients and their families, and provide round-the-clock care in a warm, loving environment.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This page has been set up in memory of Poppy Thomson, daughter of Andy and Kate and sister to Rosie.

Andy Thomson, Goods-In Supervisor at Woodway UK, lost his 3 year old daughter, Poppy, to a rare inherited disorder called leucodystropy. Poppy was diagnosed with the condition on New Year’s Eve 2010 and sadly passed away on 18th December 2011 in her parents arms.

Towards the end of her life Poppy, her parents, Andy and Kate, and her 1 year old sister Rosie, all stayed at Helen House. The Team at Helen House supported them all both practically and emotionally as they do other families with life limiting conditions.

That is why Woodway UK have decided to make Helen & Douglas House their chosen charity and this year I am rtaking part in the London to Paris Bike Ride to raise money for them. Please visit www.helenanddouglas.org.uk
