The Hospice helps people to live their precious lives well. Our care has many forms – at home, in our outpatient Spring Centre or through specialised care in one of our Hospice beds - and is defined by each person's need. We rely on donations to raise the £5m we need each year to fund our free care.

Story

So this is me,

I have pretty much struggled all my life with my health, there have been some victories but also many defeats.  I think the turning point for me came when I started seeing the impact my health was having on my kids.  I am blessed with a wife who supports and loves me no matter what, and two amazing children who I have decided I want to ensure I get to spend a lot more years with than what I have limited myself to now.  I could do this by myself, but then I am the only one who gains.  By doing the Biggest Loser, and through JustGiving I can ensure that I am helping raise money for those suffering from cancer as well as taking on my own personal challenges.  I don't expect this to be easy, and at any time I know I have a choice about whether I want to do this.  Those suffering from cancer don't have that choice and the challenges they face are far tougher than anything I will face in doing this over the next few months.  No fund rasing event can end without you being asked to dip into your pockets, but I am asking you to dip into your hearts.

Most of us know someone suffering from cancer, and not to tempt fate, but in the not too distant future we will probably know more.  Please support me in this challenge and give what you can.
