'WAC' provides information, advice and support to Worcestershire’s 63,000 adult carers. A carer is anyone who provides unpaid support to a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental ill-health or substance misuse problems. We support as many carers as possible and make a difference to their lives, by helping them to become more informed and by facilitating access to services, so that they are able to fulfil their caring roles without detriment to their own wellbeing.

Running 10k with Ben to raise some cashola for the WAC.

Ben and I are running, yes that right, 10k us, running!?

Among the myriad of reasons to run for the Worcestershire Association of Carers… 1 in 8 adults in Worcestershire is a carer, of which 45% of carers will give up work to care; 61% have faced depression because of their caring role and 49% are struggling financially because of their caring role …

There are 63,000 adult unpaid carers in Worcestershire. Significantly the value of care provided by adult unpaid carers in Worcestershire is around £1 billion a year – this is more than the total cost of the NHS in this county each year! These carers need help support and advice and the Worcestershire Association of carers gives them the help they need.
