Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

After years of sea swimming, the time has come to swim to France!

I'm swimming the English Channel!

One of the world’s toughest open water swimming challenges, in aid of an amazing charity Called 'Aspire'.

Did you know more people have climbed Everest than have swam the channel?

The Relay Channel Swim covers 22 miles between Dover and France. I am 1 part of a team of six, each of us will take it in turn to swim the channel for an hour in rotation, until we reach France!

Swimming the English Channel in a relay team on average takes around 14 hours.

Check out the incredible work aspire does via their website: https://www.aspire.org.uk

Aspire supports people who have suffered spinal injury by providing: rehabilitation, specialist equipment, care and home/lifestyle adaption. The impact they have on people's lives post spinal injury is immeasurable.
