My colleague Mark Terry and I  decided we want to give a little back in life - we work in a commercial world that is answerable to the sound of how much cash we make and often forget what really is important in life - in my view to see a smiling childs face is worth more than all the money in the world.

I have a little boy called Roman who suffers from Cerebal Palsy which leaves him unable to walk - he never moans , winges or lets anything bother him he is my true inspiration in life as his smile and laugh give me the groundng to understand how difficult life can be for a whole host of reasons.

It was therefore relevant to  undertake a huge trek along the Great Wall of China using my little boys inabilty to walk as inspiration to bring a smile to children who have life threatening problems .

Our mission is to raise as much cash as possible for the charity When you Wish Upon a Star who make it their mission to make the dreams come true of Children who have life threatening problems - How it works is the child will send to Wish Upon a Star their lifelong wish - the charirty will do everything possible in their power to make that Dream come true.

Our ultimate goal is to charter an aeroplane fully equiped with the medical equipment and staff needed to take a full plane load of life threatened children to Lapland to see the White Bearded Old Fella himself where they can give their lifelong wish and explain their dreams directly to him .....

I know life is hard financially at the moment for us all - Mark and I are personally  taking six days of work without pay - Our company Howarth Timber is going to start us off by donatng the equivalent amount that we will lose to charirty - we are also paying for our own trip so this is no free Jolly, it wil be dammed hard work and cost us both each a lot of money but will be worth a zillion times more if we could see those children smiling.

Any donation recieved no matter how small or large will be greatly appreciated - if you se me out walking a lot , I have no gt banned from driving I am in training to take on 35 miles a day for six days none stop .
