In a less fortunate Portsmouth parish, the St Mary's Music Foundation provide musical education to young people who would not otherwise have such opportunity. 

Children receive free musical tuition in piano, organ and singing, as well as subsidies to take part in a wide range of musical activities and experiences. In recent years this has included trips to sing in the cathedrals in nearby Chichester, Norwich and St David's in Wales. The charity relies wholly on donations to continue its important work.

My daughter is fortunate to receive the benefits of this foundation, and I have seen first hand how it enriches the lives of many children giving them chances that they wouldn't otherwise have. Not only does it give them a good music knowledge but also helps with their social development and builds friendships.
