Story

In memory of my Dad, Terry Brown.

Please help me with your thoughts and kind donations for one of my toughest personal challenges to date.

Saturday 3rd October, starting 1200hrs - Sunday 4th October.

24 miles over 24 hours....

2020 has been a tough year for us all in one way or another. There has been significant changes in all of our lives.

I’ve rediscovered my passion for running, the goals that can be achieved, the challenges that can be accomplished, because they make you stronger. The motivation from within, now that’s a different story, and the main reason for you sitting there reading this now.

February the 15th 2020 changed my world. It changed my outlook on life and left a huge hole in my heart. Loosing my Dad was ultimately the toughest thing I’ve ever endured, emotionally and physically.

Emotionally I was feeling all sorts of feelings of painful grief, physically I was drained, no motivation to accomplish anything.

Do you know what?... My Dad would have kicked my backside seeing me like that. I recognised that fact over time when the darkness lifted a little and we could come together in small family bubbles again. Missing Dad is still raw for us all and it hurts everyday.

I want to dedicate my next personal challenge to him, show him that hard work and determination will make me succeed again. In the process I’m going to raise money for the pilgrims hospice.

I aim to raise £500 as I run one mile on the hour, every hour for a full 24 hours. This is one huge challenge and will take more mental energy than physical I’m sure, and closer to the date my wife Lynnette will be organising a 24 hour support crew!! Watch this space for all those details, it’ll be one hell of a night shift, not to mention the final mile arrangements she’s already working on!!

Thank you so much in advance for any donation you can make.

To Dad 🥂 Gone, but never forgotten, running beside me every step of the way 💚
